Bronzite is a group of minerals, including iron, magnesium, oxygen, and silicon. With more iron it becomes hypersthene. Bronzite can be found in igneous rocks and has been discovered in meteorites. It can be found all over the world, including USA, Austria, England, South Africa, India, Norway, and Greenland.
The color of Bronzite is green or brown, varying with the amount of iron present. Most commonly, Bronzite is a lovely chocolate brown colored gemstone with golden swirls that shimmer, making this one of the more phenomenal gemstones when polished. It has fibrous inclusions and can be transparent, translucent, or opaque.
Bronzite is one of the stones that has been particularly cherished by the ancient Romans, as they used it to make protective amulets and decorative objects.
