Phosphosiderite

Phosphosiderite is a somewhat rare mineral discovered in 1890, named for its two main components: phosphate and iron — "sideros" being the Greek word for iron. The most prized color is a stunning orchid-purple that ranges from soft lavender to rich violet, often with beautiful soft swirls of beige and white running through it. It can also occur in rose red, mossy green and deeper purple tones. It can be found in small amounts in Germany, France, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, Mozambique and even the Black Hills of South Dakota. With a Mohs hardness of 3.5-4 it's best suited for necklaces and earrings rather than everyday bracelets.
