Morganite
Morganite is the pink to peach variety of beryl, a mineral family that includes emerald and aquamarine. Named in 1910 after financier J.P. Morgan, morganite gets its color from trace amounts of manganese. Colors range from soft pink to salmon and light violet.
Morganite is Mohs 7.5-8 — durable for all jewelry including rings and bracelets. Excellent for earrings, pendants, and necklaces. Suitable for daily wear with normal care. Avoid harsh chemicals and extreme heat. Clean with soft cloth and lukewarm water.
Morganite was first discovered in Madagascar in 1910 and captured gem collectors' attention for its rarity and romantic color. Though lesser-known than emerald or aquamarine, morganite has surged in popularity since 2010 as an affordable alternative to diamonds in engagement rings.
All our Morganite is natural and untreated, displaying subtle shimmer and clarity that makes this beryl so prized.
