Platinum plated over brass refers to a process where a thin, outer layer of genuine platinum is applied to the surface of the brass. Platinum is a "noble metal," meaning it is highly resistant to corrosion and chemical reactions. Unlike silver, which turns black, or raw brass, which turns green/brown, platinum does not oxidize.
