Tiger Eye

Tiger Eye is the chatoyant classic — a silky band of golden light that glides across rich brown and honey stripes. It forms beautifully: quartz slowly replaces a fibrous mineral called crocidolite, preserving the parallel fibers as a luminous shimmer.

A note on color. Natural Tiger Eye is golden-brown to honey. Hawk's Eye (blue-grey) is the same stone caught earlier in formation. Red Tiger Eye is gently heated to deepen color — a long-standing trade practice. Unnatural colors like bright purple and rainbow are dyed.
