Phantom Quartz

Phantom Quartz is one of the quiet wonders of the mineral world — a crystal within a crystal. As a quartz crystal grows, growth pauses, a dusting of minerals settles on its faces, then growth resumes and seals them inside. The result is a faint, ghostly outline of an earlier, smaller crystal suspended in clear quartz — a "phantom."

Those phantoms can be milky white, green, or shades of red and brown, depending on the minerals caught mid-growth. Each bead is a tiny frozen moment of geology.

A note worth making: some "phantom quartz" on the market is laser-engraved rock crystal — an artificial imitation. Ours is 100% natural — real phantoms, formed in the earth. No treatment.
