Moss Agate

Moss Agate is one of the most beloved nature-pattern stones in beading — a translucent-to-milky chalcedony filled with green inclusions that look like moss, ferns, or tiny underwater forests. No two beads are alike.

A note on the name: despite the name, Moss Agate isn't true moss and isn't technically a banded agate — it's chalcedony with mineral inclusions (mostly manganese and iron oxides) rather than the concentric bands that define a true agate. The "moss" is pure geology, not plant matter.
