Lepidolite
Lepidolite is a lilac-to-purple mica mineral rich in lithium. Originally called "lilalite" for its lavender hue, it was renamed in the 19th century — lepidos means "scale."
Lepidolite is Mohs 3-4 — very soft. Best for earrings, pendants, and necklaces. Not recommended for rings or bracelets due to softness and perfect cleavage (splits along natural planes). Avoid water, humidity, and harsh sunlight.
Lepidolite is naturally high in lithium and prized for calming energy. Lilac hues range from pale lavender to deep purple, with white or pink flashes from mica reflection.
All our Lepidolite is natural and untreated. Found in Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, California, and Afghanistan in lithium-rich pegmatites.
Clean gently with a dry, soft cloth only. Avoid water and ultrasonic cleaners.
