Grey Agate

Grey Agate is the quiet, sophisticated member of the agate family — a banded chalcedony in soft tones of dove gray, charcoal, silver, and white with delicate natural banding. Grey is actually the baseline color of natural agate: before any dyeing or treatment, much of the world's agate comes out of the ground in exactly these soft, smoky tones. The banding forms from layers of microcrystalline quartz traced with iron and manganese.
