Fluorite

Fluorite is a beautiful calcium fluoride mineral that sparkles in a rainbow of natural colors: purple, blue, green, yellow, and colorless — often within a single crystal. The name comes from the Latin "fluere," meaning "to flow," because ancient metalworkers used it as a flux in smelting. Under UV light, many fluorites glow with brilliant fluorescence — a property so distinctive that fluorescence itself is named after this stone.

Fluorite is Mohs 4, best for earrings, pendants, and necklaces — not rings or bracelets where daily wear and impact will damage it. Perfect cleavage in four directions means handle gently and avoid sudden temperature changes and ultrasonic cleaners.
