Aquamarine

Aquamarine is the blue member of the beryl family — the same mineral species that includes emerald, but with iron rather than chromium giving it its color. The name itself comes from Latin for "seawater," and the stone captures that essence: a transparent, crystalline blue that ranges from sky-blue to deep cerulean.

Here's an honest detail: almost all aquamarine in the marketplace, including ours, is heat-treated. Natural aquamarine comes out of the ground blueish-green. Heating removes the green tint, leaving pure, vivid blue — a technique so standard and permanent that it's an accepted industry practice. It's not a defect; it's how the stone achieves the color you're looking for.

Aquamarine is a durable choice: Mohs 7.5-8, making it excellent for rings, bracelets, and everyday wear. You'll find it here in smooth rounds and faceted cuts — all precision-cut, US-stocked. Browse our current selection below — stock changes regularly.
