Amazonite

Amazonite

Amazonite is a striking blue-green variety of microcline feldspar, named for the Amazon River where it was once thought to originate. The color — ranging from robin's egg blue to turquoise-green — comes from trace amounts of lead and iron naturally present in the mineral. Look closely and you'll often see fine white streaks or veining running through the stone, part of what makes each bead unique.

This is 100% natural, never dyed or heat-treated. The soft, opaque character of amazonite and its silky sheen make it a jeweler's favorite. It has Mohs hardness of about 6 to 6.5, making it durable for bracelets and earrings, though best kept away from harsh chemicals and heat.

You'll find Amazonite in smooth rounds and faceted cuts across a range of sizes, plus a rotating selection of specialty shapes.
