Often called Azurmalachite, the combination of azurite and malachite is a striking blue and green stone that forms naturally in copper-rich environments. Because azurite is chemically unstable and tends to weather into malachite over time, they are frequently found growing together in swirling, banded, or "bullseye" patterns. Both are copper carbonate minerals.

Because it is copper-based, the dust is toxic. It is perfectly safe to handle or wear as a polished stone, but you should never attempt to grind or cut it without professional safety equipment.

Commonly found in Arizona (USA), Namibia, Morocco, France, and Australia.
