Selenite is a transparent, luminous variety of Gypsum. It’s comprised of the crystallization of the calcium sulphate mineral.  Selenite has been wax-coated to protect the stone and create a smooth polish. The translucent stone can have inner striations, creating somewhat of a cat's eye appearance at times.
