6mm strands have 60 to 65 pieces.

8mm strands have 43 to 48 pieces. 

Rich purple opal is somewhat rare. But these common opals with a purple body color can be found in parts of Mexico. They have a nice variety of cream and yellow colors with pretty purple ones.

This is a natural stone that has had no treatment other than cutting, drilling, and polishing in China.
