Blue Opal is a type of Common Opal that is high in silica and is generally opaque and does not show the “fire” like that of Precious Opals.  Blue Opals have a pleasant light baby boy blue color with some whiten blue portions. 

Blue Opal can be found in Australia, Mexico, Peru, Canada, China and Oregon.

This is a natural stone that has had no treatment other than cutting, and polishing.
