Agate is a common rock formation, consisting of chalcedony and quartz as its primary components, consisting of a wide variety of colors. Agates are primarily formed within volcanic and metamorphic rocks.

Tree agate is also known as dendritic agate. Dendrites are crystal inclusions that develop in foliage or tree branch-like patterns. Its name was derived from the Greek word that means tree-like.  Tree Agate is usually white, gray, or colorless then displaying beautiful green dendrites.

Tree agate is not banded, so strictly speaking on scientific terms, it is not an agate. Still, it is included in the family of Agate. Tree agate is mostly found in Brazil, China, India, Australia, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Uruguay, and several of the states in the United States
